Vote for the Beat, Not the Friendship: Protecting Battle Integrity
I understand the website already has a few things in place to help prevent this, but I think it’s still an important topic worth discussing. Maintaining the integrity of the competition benefits everyone.
When someone votes for a producer simply because they’re their friend or are popular, they’re not judging the music; they’re judging the relationship. That’s unfair to everyone competing and takes away from the purpose of having a beat battle in the first place.
Here’s why it matters:
1. It’s unfair to competitors.
2. It turns competition into popularity contests.
3. It discourages serious competitors.
4. It undermines the credibility of the entire platform.
Support your friends by sharing their music, giving feedback, and encouraging them to improve. But when it’s time to vote, leave friendships at the door.
You’re not helping your friend by giving them a vote they didn’t earn, and you’re hurting the community in the process.
At the end of the day, vote for the beat, not the person. Otherwise, what’s the point of having a competition?
